The Longevity Village

People living past 100 years old!

This county's average life expectancy is 90 years old!

Bama Yao Autonomous County, located in China, is known as the "Longevity Village".

There are currently over 80 people living past 100 years old in the county.

If you grew up there, you would have a 250% higher chance of reaching 100

than if you lived in New Zealand.

What are their secrets for Longevity?

Natural Diet: The residents are very enveloped in their natural surroundings when it comes to their diet. Many eat the fish they caught that day, and the vegetables harvested from their garden. They are not eating any processed food and primarily follow a plant-based diet.

Active Lifestyle: The people of Bama Yao are always incredibly active, moving their bodies daily. Whether fishing on their rafts or hiking up the mountains to retrieve food and supplies, they keep their bodies engaged in daily activities even into their older years.

Strong Community: The community in Bama Yao is like one close-knit family, all supporting each other. They all get out together as friends to sing and dance while enjoying life with the people they love. Nobody is alone in the country; they all have each other.

Clean Environment: Bama Yao also has clean air and pure water, free from the pollution and toxins of modern cities. A local said he can barely breathe when going to the nearby cities since the residents are used to the air in Bama Yau.

What can we learn?

While we might not all be able to replicate the exact conditions of Bama Yau, there's a lot we can take away from their way of life.

Eat Mindfully

Eat organic foods and stay away from things that are heavily processed.

Stay Active

Make sure you're getting regular exercise. Don't sit all day!

Build Connections

Make life worth living, enjoy time with the people close to you.

Embrace Nature

Get outside and in nature as much as possible, even if it's a walk in the park.

If you implemented only four things into your life, you would be doing more than 80% of the population to increase your healthy lifespan.
